Gentle Yoga
Gentle yoga is an introductory class for anyone who likes to take it slow. This class is a relaxing and mobilizing experience for the body and the mind. Learn and practice basic yoga techniques for breathing, stretching, and meditating. This class is great for anyone who would lives with back pain, joint problems, balance issues, is recovering from injury or just wants a little extra time to indulge in the sweet flow of slow yoga.
Yoga I
This class is perfect for beginners. Learn Hatha yoga poses and breathing techniques in a supportive and positive environment. Practice poses for balance, flexibility, and stress relief. Learn breathing techniques and meditation for relaxation. Leave feeling restored and refreshed. Good for everybody.
Individual Yoga Therapy
These hours are set aside for individuals to work one-on-one with a yoga teacher. Create your own practice, learn the basics, or pursue a personal interest in breathing or stress reduction techniques. Some clients work with their therapist to customize movement sessions to recover from injury, deal with depression/anxiety, arthritis, or design a sports specific program. Thai Yoga Bodywork
Feeling stressed and tight? Suffer from chronic pain, achy joints or sleeplessness? Rejuvenate your energy with an individual Thai Yoga Bodywork session. Thai Yoga is an ancient healing technique which combines passive yoga postures and Thai Massage techniques. You will experience assisted stretching, acupressure and reflex point therapy, gentle rocking and rhythmic palming to sooth the nervous system, ·assisted range of motion exercises and deep tissue compression. Yoga/Pilates Fusion
This class will set you on the path to a strong and supple spine while you learn basic principles of yoga and Pilates! Learn basic postures and exercises to strengthen abdominal muscles, improve your posture, and care for your neck and back. Build strength while retraining the body to use muscles efficiently. No experience necessary. Good for bodies who want to sit and stand up straight without pain.
Kundalini Yoga
Enjoy dynamic movement and breathing exercises, mudra (hand positions), chanting and deep relaxation. Kundalini yoga exercises have a strong cleansing effect on physical toxins and emotional stressors like pain, fear, stress and frustration. This yoga will support you in feeling healthy from your toes to your attitude, helping you be more effective and creative in your life. It can be practiced on a mat, cushion, or a chair. Good for all bodies of all ages.
SWEAT AND STRENGTHEN
Hot Power Yoga
Hot Power Yoga is an energetic Vinyasa-style class designed to help you achieve your fitness goals. Vinyasa means “to place in special order”; this means the order of the poses is designed to addresses the entire body for a well-rounded work out. The instructions are clear and modifications offered to adjust the level of effort. This is a great class for someone looking to lose weight and get fit. Each class includes time to stretch, flow, balance, strengthen, twist, and rest. The room gets hot, so bring your towel. All levels welcome, some experience is helpful.
Yoga I/II
A class for everyone. Enjoy a gentle mobilizing warm up great for joints, a cleansing meditation good for the brain and the heart, a sun salutation series to get you moving, and a focus pose of the week with a yoga nap at the end. Practitioners of all levels practice together. Enjoy this invigorating class every Sunday to start your week out with a clear mind and inspired body! Good for the whole world.
Yoga II
In Yoga II, students experience vinyasa (flowing) style yoga to open the heart and mind, strengthen the body, and create balance. Experience vinyasa krama (stages of poses) to develop a more advanced practice built on the Yoga I fundamentals. This room is heated to support challenging poses like arm balances, inversions, backbends, and deep stretches. Prior yoga experience is suggested.
Core Focus Workout
Want to move like a dancer? Practice with one! Julia will guide students through basic conditioning and stretching used in yoga, ballet and modern dance classes to strengthen, align, and lengthen the body. Exercises are drawn from traditional ballet and modern dance, Laban, Feldenkrais, Alexander Technique, Yoga, Pilates and Noguchi training to promote alignment, balance and efficiency. Poses and exercises are offered in full and modified forms appropriate for the student. Get strong and feel stable in Core Focus Yoga. Be ready to work it out.
Friday Fitness
Want to kick start your metabolism? Enjoy 45 minutes of heart pumping barefoot plyometrics and strengthening sequences to rebuild quads, hams, calves, and ankles, a little punching for your arms, shoulders, and attitude, 15 challenging minutes of hardcore abs and 30 minutes of hand picked mat exercises that address the specific needs of endurance athletes. The roads are calling…get ready to take them on!
Nia~Dance
Nia is a dance class that blends easy to follow steps with dance, martial arts, and healing arts, to create a joyful, dynamic fitness practice that transforms how people experience their body and movement. Be prepared to move, sweat, smile, and get hooked.Perfect for every body.
REST AND REJUVENATE
Restorative Yoga
Stretch, relax and heal. Restorative yoga is a slow, passive and lazy yoga practice which invites the body to experience total relaxation in supported postures. The mind will de-stress while the body gently realigns, leaving you refreshed and light. Reconnect and heal the body in a safe and soothing environment. This class includes a long meditation. All levels are welcome to bliss out.
Mindfulness Meditation
Learn simple techniques that can bring peace to your body and mind with Jared Featherstone. Through awareness of breathing and bodily sensations, mindfulness practice trains the mind to be calm and alert. Modern neuroscience has validated the positive mental and emotional effects of mindfulness meditation practice, and these practices have been around for over 2500 years. Good for every body on the planet.
